Travelogue
Today, we left Cologne and cycled onwards, roughly following the Rhine on route EV15. We stopped at a campsite about 10 km north of Dusseldorf.
It was an uneventful ride and in truth we found it a little boring. We always knew that this part of EV15, from Cologne on through the industrial heartland of Germany was likely to be the least interesting of our trip.
We stopped for coffee and sandwiches in Neuss. This was the highlight of the day. Of course, we still have camping mush for dinner to look forward to, so the best is yet to come :-)
We'd expected heavy rain today but the weather forecast had improved by last night and the actual weather turned out to be almost entirely dry, sometimes sunny, sometimes cloudy and sometimes windy (a headwind of course!). So, a little solar energy was generated when none had been expected. All good.
